THIS ISN'T YOUR TYPICAL GALVESTON GHOST TOUR

The Gulf Has Secrets. Come Hear Them Where They Happened.

Galveston is already famous for its haunted history. But most ghost tours experience it from the sidewalk. We take you into the harbor.

Instead of standing outside a historic building hearing what supposedly happened inside, you’re cruising through the waters where sailors worked, ships arrived, storms changed lives, and generations of maritime stories were born.

There are no actors jumping from behind doors. No manufactured scares. No haunted-house maze. Just the darkness of Galveston Bay, the sounds of the harbor, and stories that feel very different when you’re hearing them from a boat after sunset.

A Galveston Ghost Tour Unlike Any Other

When the Sun Goes Down, the Stories Begin

Your night starts at Pier 19 in Galveston Harbor. You’ll board Island Jules as daylight disappears and the working harbor begins to change around you. Then you’ll head onto the water.

The same ships, channels, docks, and stretches of bay that seem ordinary during the day take on an entirely different feeling after dark. And that’s when the stories begin.

You’ll hear tales inspired by Galveston’s maritime history, harbor legends, shipwrecks, unexplained happenings, and the people whose stories became part of island lore.

You’ll have to decide for yourself what you believe. The harbor gets darker. The island lights move farther behind you. And suddenly every shadow on the water feels a little different.

THE LEGEND OF FRENCHIE

Some Harbor Stories Never Really End

Long before Frenchie the Sassy Sea Pirate stepped onto the docks in Galveston, another Frenchy had already found his way into the stories surrounding these waters. His name was Frenchy LeBlanc.

According to the legend told around our harbor, Frenchy knew the waters surrounding Galveston Bay and had a mysterious connection to the old SS Selma, the weathered concrete ship that still rests in the bay.

Then, generations later, another Frenchie arrived — this one from Pittsburgh. Maybe it’s coincidence. Maybe every harbor eventually creates its own legends. Or maybe some stories have a strange way of finding the people who are supposed to continue them.

Some of Galveston’s stories are more than a century old. Some are still being written.

THE STORIES WE TELL

History. Legends. Shipwrecks. And Things We Can't Quite Explain.

We won’t tell you everything here, that would ruin the fun. But Ghosts of The Gulf explores the darker stories tied to Galveston’s relationship with the water.

Maritime Disasters

Hurricanes, shipwrecks, accidents, and life at sea have shaped Galveston’s history for generations. Some of those stories ended when the history books say they did. Others apparently didn’t.

Ships That Never Quite Disappear

Galveston’s waters hold the remains and memories of vessels that came before us, including the unmistakable silhouette of the SS Selma. Every old ship seems to collect a few stories.

Harbor Legends

Ask enough fishermen, captains, dock workers, and locals about Galveston after dark, and eventually someone tells you something they can’t explain. Lights. Sounds. Figures. Things seen through fog.

Frenchy LeBlanc & The SS Selma

His connection to the Selma has become woven into our own Island Tours story, especially after another Frenchie somehow found her way to the same Galveston waters generations later.

ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH FOR THE NIGHT TOUR?

Eerie, Atmospheric & Story-Driven

Ghosts of The Gulf isn’t designed around jump scares or graphic horror. Think of it as dark maritime storytelling on Galveston Bay. The atmosphere comes naturally — a dark harbor, moving water, ships passing in the distance, the lights of Galveston behind you, and a Captain telling you a story that suddenly feels considerably more believable when you’re sitting on the water where it supposedly happened.

It’s spooky. It’s historical. It’s mysterious. And it’s a side of Galveston most visitors never experience.
